Minor change to eligibility criteria for research grant development awards

We have made some minor modifications to our research grant development award scheme, which come into effect from the autumn 2020 deadline.

First, we have reduced the minimum number of institutions required to be involved in an application from three to two.

Second, we now require that two applicants including the lead applicant (not just any two applicants) have track records as active researchers in the sociology of health and illness.

Third, we have removed the requirement that applications be multidisciplinary. However, multidisciplinary applications are still welcome.

These changes are intended to encourage applications for this scheme from a wide range of eligible researchers and academics, while ensuring that all applications have clear relevance to the sociology of health and illness.

The webpage and terms and conditions for the scheme have been updated to reflect these changes.
