Members of the Charity

The Governing Body is made up of seven trustees/directors and the current Editorial Board of Sociology of health and Illness and up to five others elected at an ordinary meeting of the Charity.

There are a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 trustees who may not profit from the Charity.

Editorial Board members are Members of the Foundation and have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting of the Charity which is held at the Annual British Medical Sociology Conference in September.
(Up to five other members can be appointed at the discretion of the Trustees.)

There is no formal relationship with the British Sociological Association (BSA)/BSA Medical Sociology Group although, naturally, we are keen to collaborate in any joint venture provided
(a) that it falls within our objectives as set out above and
(b) there are the necessary funds available.
